The SIYB Association was honored as a Technical Partner at the SPARK 2024 - Skilled Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, held on September 5, 2024, at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo. Ms. Rukmani Rathnayake, the Hon. President of the SIYB Association, accepted the memento on behalf of the organization. SPARK is an exciting platform designed exclusively for Sri Lanka’s next generation of entrepreneurs, launched under the patronage of the South Asia Leadership in Entrepreneurship Project of the International Labour Organization.

As a key technical partner, the SIYB Association provided invaluable expertise in all three languages to assist shortlisted School and Open Category applicants in developing comprehensive business plans. Through a series of video lessons tailored for each category, SIYB's technical experts guided candidates in completing the necessary formats. Ms. Rukmani Rathnayake oversaw the English videos, while Mr. Sisira Fernando and Mr. Hilmy Ishak managed the Sinhala and Tamil videos, respectively.

To ensure maximum support, the SIYB Association participated in virtual discussions with the candidates, addressing their queries and providing one-on-one assistance to navigate the application process successfully.

In recognition of their significant contributions to the competition, the SIYB Association and its experts were felicitated at the SPARK 2024 Grand Finale. Ms. Rukmani Rathnayake, Ms. Maheswary Pathirathna, Mr. Srimal Jayathilaka, Mr. Hilmy Ishak, and Mr. Sisira Fernando were also honored for their voluntary service as evaluators at various stages of the competition.
